Kratom
A tropical deciduous tree (Mitragyna speciosa) native to Southeast Asia, with leaves that contain many compounds, including mitragynine, a psychotropic (mind-altering) opioid. Kratom is consumed for mood-lifting effects and pain relief and as an aphrodisiac.
Street Names: Herbal Speedball, Biak-biak, Ketum, Kahuam, Thang, Thom
Possible Health Effects: Nausea, dizziness, itching, sweating, dry mouth, constipation, increased urination, loss of appetite.
Low doses: increased energy, sociability, alertness.
High doses: sedation, euphoria, decreased pain.
